About Kiana Stallard

Teaching Philosophy:

As a dance educator, Kiana Stallard is passionate about educating her students in various dance forms and genres, including jazz, modern, ballet, and hip-hop. Kiana believes dance education also includes, terminology, vocabulary, history, movement, technique, concepts, choreography, improvisation, critical thinking, and mind-body connection. She values self-care, health, and nutrition and desires to embody that for her students. Her goal is to cultivate a creative and accepting environment for her students, as well as to provide opportunities for success and achievement. These opportunities will be assessed to identify where the student’s skills are currently at and to encourage growth in this craft and art form. Ms. Stallard recognizes the importance of advocating for the art form, by supporting it in the community and within the academic setting. She desires to expose students to appropriate and thought-provoking experiences that promote self and artistic growth within each individual. Her inspiration and passion come from watching her students discover themselves and grow in skill and confidence. Kiana Stallard recognizes in order to poor into her students she must also poor into herself, which is why she is actively taking classes and workshops to better her own skill and teaching style. Other methods of growth she takes is by collaborating with collages in her field as well as other arts educators. This improves programs and creates a more cohesive academic setting as well as a more harmonious school.
